Rescue Beauty Lounge Fan Collection IKB:2012 Comparison Post

Today's manicure is a giant comparison post of doom!  I got my new Rescue Beauty Lounge Fan Collection package (I ordered three out of the four).  Great bloggers have already photographed their manicures with these polishes, and blue is so friggin' hard to photograph accurately, but I decided to take all of the polishes that pundits had mentioned as possible dupes and throw them on for y'all.
I did discover that Wet n Wild Craze in Tagger (an HTF LE East Coast only Wet n Wild) and Nails Inc Baker Street are dead dupes, for what that's worth.
I don't believe that IKB:2012 has an exact dupe.  Royal Navy is close, but a bit more saturated and with the teal shimmer.  Barry M Indigo is noticeably deeper.  WnW Tagger and Nails Inc Baker Street are a shade lighter.  MAC Breezy Blue is pretty close, but is not a jelly and has more purple.  Nubar Blueberry is way more smurf-colored than any of these others (It made me think of the OCC Rx I once swatched, but didn't buy and thus can't compare).  But see for yourself:
All of these swatches are one coat of SpaRitual Lacquer Lock bc, one coat of CND Stickey bc, two coats of polish, and one coat of Seche Vite.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Piu Mosso

As I said previously, I only ordered two of the Rescue Beauty Lounge “L’Oiseau de Feu” or Firebird Collection after examining the swatches on Scrangie, ALU, and AKA. I already reviewed Pizzicato. This appeared to be stand out shade of the collection. Poco a Poco made me think of the recent Essie Lion Around, so I'm waiting on comparison swatches on that one. Fortissimo just seemed kinda boring.
This mani is RBL Piu Mosso. Piu Mosso is a deep dark smoky indigo base absolutely loaded with red, orange, and pinkish shimmer (I swear there's even a little blue and green shimmer).
In low light, it just kinda looks like a black creme. A little more light makes it look inky with a bit of pinkish shimmer. In bright artificial light, the firey shimmer and blue base combine to make the polish look positively purple. The base and shimmer contrast is totally unique and interesting. The formula on this was great and really needed only one coat.
This mani is one coat Spa Ritual Lacquer Lock bc, one coat CND Stickey bc, two coats of polish, and one coat of Seche Vite tc.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Pizzicato

I only ordered two of the Rescue Beauty Lounge “L’Oiseau de Feu” or Firebird Collection after examining the swatches on Scrangie, ALU, and AKA. The one that really caught my eye was Piu Mosso, but I was also interested in Pizzicato. Poco a Poco made me think of the recent Essie Lion Around, so I'm waiting on comparison swatches on that one. Fortissimo just seemed kinda boring.
This mani is RBL Pizzicato. Pizzicato is a pale pink-toned lavender creme with icy green and pink shimmer that mostly just appears silvery. It is a sheer and somewhat thick polish for RBL and required 3 coats to cover up bald spots. Not the best formula. It is unique and delicate looking.
This mani is one coat Spa Ritual Lacquer Lock bc, one coat CND Stickey bc, three coats of polish, and one coat of Seche Vite tc.

RBL Spring 2011: The Quick and the Dirty

I ordered from RBL on Saturday and to my surprise and delight, my package of new spring colors from the 2011 Iconic/Ironic collection was on my doorstep when I got home from work today. My cuticles are a disaster, but I did quick 2-coat (no base or top coat) swatches to share with you. These are all so lovely. I am the most ambivalent about Recherche because of it's simplicity, but I look forward to doing full manis with all of these interesting colors.
These pictures were taken indoors with artificial lighting.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Autumn/Winter 2010 Real Housewives of the Tudor Dynasty

It's been awhile. I received these three Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes from the new collection in the mail today (from my pre-order). I did not order Jane. I believe these will be made available on the Rescue Beauty Lounge site this week.

Here are the descriptions from Ji:
Catherine—Henry the VIII's first wife and Europe's first female ambassador inspired this royal purple with a fine pewter sheen and hints of blue and fuschia shimmer.

Anne—Rumored to be a sorceress, Henry's second wife lends her short-lived name to this bewitching olive green with a subtle pink-gold metallic iridescence.

Jane—my (current) favorite polish, named for Henry's favorite wife, is a pale gray pearl with sheer washes of pink and gold.

Catherine H.—Like Henry's trophy wife, you'll lose your head for this shimmering Wedgewood blue hue with a hint of a gold- and pink-flecked darkening sky.

I compared them to my stash. Catherine was unique amongst my purples. Anne resembled a few greens from BB Couture, but as you can see from the comparisons below I found no dupes. I believe that Catherine H is *almost* an exact dupe of BB Couture for Men Impact Driver. There are slight differences - Catherine H has slightly more purple shimmer and I believe that Impact Driver may have a few grains of black glitter - but Impact Driver applies better and is cheaper so it would make a fine alternative.

All of these swatches are two coats and photographs were taken indoors using an artificial light source.

RBL Spring 2010

Just got an email from Rescue Beauty Lounge. The three new spring colors (Bangin, Diddy Mow, and 360) are available now for preorder.
Here's the link:
http://www.rescuebeauty.com/category/nail-polish-surf-colors.html
Looks like they won't be shipping until late March.
In other news, Ji finally adressed shipping fee complaints with a new free shipping offer. For orders over $100 ($200 international). woo. not really.
I'm heading to NYC in April, so I'm looking forward to picking these up in person. Maybe I'll even get a "professional" manicure.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Orbis Non Sufficit

Today's manicure is Rescue Beauty Lounge Orbis Non Sufficit. Since I covered the other two limited edition blogger polishes, I thought it only fair to share my ONS notd as well. Like most RBL cremes, this is super smooth and opaque in one coat. It is a unique green in my collection. It's almost a neutral - like a mix of blackboard green and a calming sage green color. You can purchase this color here:
Rescue Beauty Lounge Orbis Non Sufficit.
I really can't recommend Rescue Beauty Lounge cremes enough. They are my favorite polish company operating today.
This mani is one coat SpaRitual resurface base coat, two coats of polish, and one coat of SpaRitual Tout de Suite top coat.
I have a very exciting green polish to share with you tomorrow that I've been hunting for months.

RBL Blogger Polish: Mismas and Scrangie

Today's manicure is Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie layered over Rescue Beauty Lounge Mismas. You can click on the color names for links to the product pages on Rescue Beauty Lounge's site. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but Rescue Beauty Lounge is one of my favorite nail polish brands. It's the third most represented brand in my collection with 34 bottles.
In case you were wondering, the top 3 brands in my stash are:
#1 Hard Candy
#2 OPI
#3 RBL
I have tried all of the Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes I own, and they are MOSTLY great. I had to swap one that was uber sheer and pink instead of red. The brand excels most at creme formulas. Their shimmer and glitter is decent, but most of their cremes are super smooth, opaque in one coat, and fast drying. (Which seems to be quite a feat to achieve).
Rescue Beauty Lounge's latest three piece collection was designed with nail bloggers. These were designed by two bloggers whose blogs I read regularly, and you can find their blog links in the bar on the right.
Scrangie is an opalescent sheer shimmery purple with teal iridescence. Scrangie designed it to resemble a beetle's wing. It's gorgeous, but quite sheer and really benefits from layering. You can use whatever purple creme you have (or black or something else for that matter); feel free to experiment. Mismas is a purple creme whose shade compliments Scrangie quite well.
Mismas is a one coat purple creme. Simple and well done. Created by the blogger of All Lacquered Up.
This mani is one coat Nubar Nu Nails, one coat RBL Mismas, two coats RBL Scrangie, and one coat Nubar Diamont.
